Speculative Design: Dissecting Deptford
This project critiques architecture’s passive role in London’s urban fabric through four interventions in Deptford which confront overlooked spatial and psychological discomforts. Creative studios to the west and reimagined domestic spaces to the east challenge the live/work divide, forming a disruptive spatial toolset. Engaging with conditions of security, ownership, labor, and voyeurism, the work resists conventional resolution, proposing discomfort as a generative force. In doing so, it questions architecture’s disengaged methodologies and suggests provocative new design strategies.
